EXECUTIVE COUNCIL |
Everglades P.O BOX 44-132 STAR ROUTE 23B |
DECEMBER 29, 1982 |
Honorable Ronald Reagan
President of the United States
The White House
Washington DC
Dear President Reagan:
We, as the governing body of the unconquered MICCOSUKEE SEMINOLE NATION, that you sometimes call the SEMINOLE NATION, and officially recognized as the EVERGLADES MICCOSUKEE TRIBE OF SEMINOLE INDIANS on January 27, 1958, again protest to you the continuing fraud against our nation by your congress and others, with the help of one of our former councilman BUFFALO TIGER, who works for the U.S., and continues to use our Miccosukee national name without our authority.
We have just heard again that the newspapers say the U.S. is also going to pay $975,000.00 supposedly for our Everglades Homeland rights, to a small group of former Miccosukees using our national name without our authority, headed by Buffalo Tiger, who are also BIA employees.
$975,000.00 might buy a small piece of land on Miami Beach. The $2,000,000. The U.S. gives Mr. Tiger and his fake tribe each year to help with this fraud, would not even pay the white mans interest for the use of our land, we are told.
As we told you in our July 15, 1981 letter, which we are sending you again in this letter, Mr. Tiger is a paid U.S. BIA contract employee, and he has been for the past 20 years. We are sending you another copy of his notarized resignation. From our council.
Mr. Tiger, over the past 20 years he has worked for the BIA, has signed more fake/agreements and papers for the U.S. than Mr. Carter has peanuts.
The newspapers, we just heard, also say that he just signed another agreement with the U.S., and also put a case in the U.S. District Court, Southern District,, case no. 79-153-CIV JWK falsely using our Miccosukee nation name. Our government has never seen or authorized such an agreement or court case.
Since this last agreement has been signed, we see that Mr. Tiger now drives a new gold colored 1983 cadillac automobile.
We repeat again, Mr. Buffalo Tiger is not a member of our MICCOSUKEE SEMINOLE NATION or our government, and he has no more right to sell our homeland or rights than your Senator Kennedy has to sell Ireland, or Mr, Kissinger has to sell Israel.
And we say to you again what our people told Florida Governor Sholtz on February 22, 1936, which you once could read at Monument Road near Munroe Station, “POHOAM CHECKISH“. . . . . . .which means, just leave us alone, in peace on our Everglades Homeland.
As our great chief Osceola told your army over 100 years ago, our Everglades Homeland is not for sale.
